“American Gods” author and series executive producer Neil Gaiman has responded to Starz’s cancellation of the series – saying the show is “definitely not dead”.
In a statement on social media, Gaiman expressed gratitude to the producing team for “the American Gods journey so far” and then said production company Fremantle “are committed to finishing the story that began in episode 1. Right now, we’re all just waiting to see which way forward is best, and who it’ll be with.”
Yesterday’s news of the premium cabler not picking up another season suggested a potential event series or TV movie wrap-up was possible. Gaiman’s comments seem to suggest it’s a serious possibility.
Gaiman is also currently at work on Netflix’s adaptation of his comic book series “The Sandman”.
